Smart gripper that detects force, torque, and proximity with fingertips.
Each finger of the RG2-FT is equipped with a 6-axis force/torque sensor that measures force and torque at the contact points. This allows the robot to receive feedback during gripping, insertion, and assembly tasks, enabling it to detect contact with objects and respond appropriately to changes in resistance or alignment. Proximity sensors mounted on each finger detect the presence of objects and measure their distance before contact. By combining sensing during approach with feedback at the moment of contact, it supports tasks where the position of components varies and fixed coordinates alone do not provide sufficient information. ■ Two 6-axis force/torque sensors, one mounted on each finger ■ Two proximity sensors that measure the presence and distance of objects ■ 150 Hz sampling of force/torque and proximity sensing ■ Feedback throughout the entire interaction process from before contact
